Web Summit Qatar 2025 to See Record Number of Startups, Investors Participation
Doha, Qatar: Web Summit Qatar has firmly established itself as the region’s leading technology conference. As it gears up for its second edition, it promises to gather an expanded cohort of tech entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, and industry leaders from across the globe.
The anticipation for Web Summit Qatar 2025 is palpable, with projected attendance numbers reaching approximately 35,000 participants, 60% being local attendees. The event will spotlight 1,500 startups, including 200 hailing from Qatar, and a remarkable 50% increase in investor participation is noted compared to the previous year. These details were shared by officials at a recent press conference.
H E Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Director of the Government Communications Office and Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee, stated, “Our debut edition of Web Summit Qatar last year was a significant milestone for the MENA region’s tech landscape and a testament to Qatar’s ongoing achievements. We aim to cultivate the tech sector in Qatar and amplify its role as a premier regional hub.”
This upcoming edition will witness a phenomenal 140 percent rise in the number of Qatari startups from last year’s event. Web Summit Qatar 2025 is set to welcome over 300 local and international speakers, 600 investors, 150 partners, and 600 media representatives.
New to this edition are several themed stages and tracks, featuring the Developer Summit, AI Summit, Creative Summit, New Energy Summit, and Government Summit.
“This year’s figures reveal the strong interest from top tech leaders and entrepreneurs worldwide, eager to join Web Summit Qatar 2025. We are confident it will surpass all expectations,” noted H E Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani.
Web Summit, recognized as the largest global event in the technology sector, will see the Qatar edition occur five times through 2028. The 2025 edition is scheduled for February 23 to 26 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
Paddy Cosgrave, Founder and CEO of Web Summit, emphasized that the increase in startup participation for Web Summit 2025 signifies a major accomplishment and highlights the robust backing for Web Summit Qatar. “Gathering over 1,500 startups from more than 90 countries is an unmatched achievement in the region. Such an event is unparalleled.”
Cosgrave continued to express how the sharp 50% rise in global investor attendance underscores Qatar’s appeal as a hub for innovation and collaboration. This growth isn’t just in attendance, but in interest and influence.
