Drussy Hernandez to Step Down as President of CAR

In a significant announcement to the Chicago real estate community, the Chicago Association of REALTORS® (CAR) disclosed that Drussy Hernandez will relinquish her position as president of the association. Hernandez’s departure, scheduled for May 15, is due to her need to address external professional obligations. As Hernandez exits, President-Elect Erika Villegas is set to ascend to the presidency, marking a new chapter in the organization’s leadership.

The organization expressed its gratitude towards Hernandez for her service and dedication during her tenure as president. “We are grateful for all of Drussy’s efforts as our president and her commitment for ensuring Realtors’ success,” CAR conveyed in a message to its members. The association also reassured its members of its continued dedication to their success in an ever-evolving industry landscape. “We know there are a lot of changes happening in our industry, and we want to assure you that we are focused on providing you with the tools and services needed for your success,” CAR stated.

Hernandez’s departure marks the end of a noteworthy leadership period at CAR, during which she contributed significantly to the Realtor community. Before her role as president of CAR, Hernandez has been actively involved in the real estate sector through her position as vice president of brokerage services at Coldwell Banker Realty. Her extensive involvement in several professional organizations highlights her commitment to the industry. Hernandez is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Illinois Association of Realtors, the Women’s Council of Realtors, the Asian American Real Estate Association of America, the Dearborn Realtist Board, and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, underscoring her broad engagement and influence across various sectors of the real estate industry.

As the Chicago real estate community anticipates the transition in leadership, Erika Villegas is poised to take on the role of president. With the support and guidance of CAR’s members and leadership team, the association looks forward to continuing its mission of supporting Realtor success and adapting to the dynamic needs of the real estate industry.

As the Chicago Association of REALTORS® gears up for this leadership shift, the focus remains steadfast on providing unparalleled support and resources to its members. Through collaborative efforts and innovative strategies, CAR aims to navigate the complexities of the real estate market, ensuring a prosperous future for its members and the broader real estate community in Chicago.
