The St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation proudly presents this event, extending a special invitation to all ambitious entrepreneurs ready to take their businesses to the next level.

Interested parties are encouraged to mark their calendars, as the application window for this prestigious competition will close promptly at noon on July 7. The selection process will be rigorous, with only three finalists earning the chance to present their business concepts to a discerning panel of judges come fall. Although the specifics of this year’s prize package remain under wraps for now, each of the three finalists is guaranteed a cash prize of no less than $5,000. The competition’s crown jewel, the grand prize, will consist of an enticing mix of cash and in-kind donations, promising significant support to the winning startup.

To be considered for the Startup St. Bernard Challenge, businesses must commit to establishing their base of operations in St. Bernard Parish for a minimum of two years. Additionally, they should contribute positively to the parish and actively engage with the local entrepreneurial community. Eligibility criteria stipulate that applicants should be businesses in operation for five years or less, or an existing business branching out with a new division or entity. Further requirements include having an annual revenue of less than $1 million and a workforce of five employees or fewer. Previous cash winners and finalists of the Startup St. Bernard competition, as well as nonprofit organizations, are not eligible to participate.
