In a significant step towards modernizing business registration processes in Bangladesh, the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) recently held a comprehensive stakeholder consultation workshop. This important event took place at the esteemed Hotel Holiday Inn Dhaka, focusing on the introduction and validation of the innovative smartRJSC system. This groundbreaking platform is aimed at revolutionizing company registration processes in Bangladesh, making it a landmark initiative supported by the Feed the Future Bangladesh Trade Activity, funded by USAID.

The workshop served as a melting pot for ideas, gathering industry leaders, government officials from the Ministry of Commerce, representatives from Bangladesh Bank, the Export Promotion Bureau, the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, and a broad spectrum of key business stakeholders. The collaboration and discussions aimed to shape a more streamlined, efficient, and user-friendly company registration environment in Bangladesh.

The smartRJSC system is designed to significantly enhance the registration process for companies in Bangladesh. By incorporating features such as automation, data verification, and transparency, the platform promises to reduce the time, costs, and complexity currently associated with company registrations. This development is not only a milestone for the RJSC but also a significant leap forward for the country’s business community, offering a more refined and accessible registration procedure.

The workshop was graced by the presence of several dignitaries. The State Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Ahsanul Islam Titu, attended as the chief guest, with Md Selim Uddin, the Commerce Ministry Secretary, joining as a special guest. The event was chaired by the RJSC Registrar, Md Mizanur Rahman, who reiterated the RJSC’s dedication to fostering impactful changes within the business landscape of Bangladesh.

In his remarks, the State Minister expressed his enthusiasm for the smartRJSC system, highlighting its alignment with Bangladesh’s Smart Bangladesh Vision 2041. He encouraged users to actively participate in the system’s refinement by providing valuable feedback and suggestions. The Minister also called for more workshops and discussions to further develop the system, showcasing the government’s proactive approach to embracing technology for economic progress.

He pointed out that supporting the implementation of this platform is part of USAID’s broader commitment to fostering a free economy in Bangladesh and catalyzing the dynamism of the country’s entrepreneurs.

The workshop on the smartRJSC system marks a pivotal moment in Bangladesh’s journey towards digital transformation in business registration processes. This initiative symbolizes a commitment to technological advancement, regulatory reform, and economic development, promising a brighter, more efficient future for businesses in Bangladesh.
