Mercedes-Benz Launches More Powerful Petrol C-Class With C300 AMG Line
Mercedes-Benz, a hallmark of luxury and performance, has rolled out significant updates to some of its most beloved models, notably the C-Class and GLC, enriching their lineup with enhanced features and powertrains. Among the updates, the introduction of a new petrol engine for the C-Class stands out as a highlight, signaling a pivotal shift to cater to the growing preference for petrol vehicles among consumers.
A Glimpse at the New Powerhouse
The latest entrant to the C-Class range, the C300 AMG Line, emerges as a direct successor to the C300d, swapping out the diesel engine for a more potent petrol alternative. At the heart of the C300 AMG Line is a robust 1999cc 4-cylinder petrol engine, capable of unleashing 258hp, thus ensuring a brisk acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.0 seconds. This impressive performance is augmented by an integrated starter-alternator (ISG) that works in tandem with the internal combustion engine to boost power by an additional 17 kW and 205 Nm of torque, complemented by an overboost function for that extra surge when needed.
Stylistic and Feature Enhancements
Mercedes-Benz doesn’t stop at mechanical upgrades; it extends its refinement to aesthetical enhancements as well. The C300 AMG Line now dazzles in two new colors, Patagonia Red and Sodalite Blue, offering more choices for individual expression. This model embodies the AMG Line ethos with a more aggressive and sportier appearance, further accentuated by an array of premium features like the Burmester 3D surround sound system, DIGITAL LIGHTS, KEYLESS-GO comfort package, and state-of-the-art safety features like Augmented Reality navigation and Blind Spot Assist.
Enhancements Across the C-Class and GLC Models
The rest of the C-Class lineup hasn’t been left behind in the latest series of upgrades. Both the C 200 and C 220d models are now equipped with luxury amenities such as heated/cooled ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, fast-charging USB-C ports, digital key handover, and adaptive high beam assist. The introduction of the Sodalite Blue option, replacing the Cavansite Blue, adds another layer of sophistication to the choices available to customers.
The GLC, alongside the revamped C-Class, also receives notable upgrades for its 2024 iteration. Key among these enhancements are the heated/cooled climatized front seats and an increased safety feature of 9 airbags, marking Mercedes-Benz’s unwavering commitment to comfort and safety.
Pricing and Availability
Reflecting their prestigious positions within the Mercedes-Benz portfolio, the newly updated models come with competitive pricing. For the 2024 lineup, the C 200 starts at Rs 61.85 lakhs, the C 220 d at Rs 62.85 lakhs, and the new C 300 is priced at Rs 69 lakhs, all prices being India ex-showroom. On the flip side, the GLC’s pricing begins at Rs 75.90 lakh for the 2024 GLC 300 4MATIC and Rs 76.90 lakhs for the GLC 220d 4MATIC, asserting its premium stance in the Indian market.
With the launch of the more powerful petrol C-Class with C300 AMG Line and enhancements across the board, Mercedes-Benz continues to refine its formula, combining luxury, performance, and cutting-edge technology to meet the evolving demands of the market. These updates firmly establish the C-Class and GLC as formidable contenders in their respective segments, poised to deliver an unmatched driving experience to their discerning drivers.
