In recent years, the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) markets have emerged as vibrant destinations for Irish companies. Enterprise Ireland’s client exports to the India, Middle East, and Africa region soared by 13% from 2021 to 2022, showcasing this potential.

Enhanced direct flights from Dublin have further facilitated engagement, marking the region an appealing prospect for Irish SMEs.
Dara Calleary, the minister of state for trade promotion, recently led a trade visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to fortify trade connections and explore new business opportunities. Additionally, the Arab Health expo featured 17 Irish medical and life science companies, underpinned by Enterprise Ireland, showcasing to a global audience. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by Enterprise Ireland CEO, Leo Clancy, with Dubai Chambers brings into focus the promising collaboration avenues, especially in technology and sustainable solutions. With offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh, alongside seasoned market advisors, Enterprise Ireland is uniquely positioned to guide Irish companies through navigating and seizing the rich prospects in the Mena markets.
