Arabian Travel Market in Dubai Sees 26% Year-on-Year Growth

The Arabian Travel Market (ATM), a premier global event for the travel and tourism sector, is set to take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from May 6th to 9th. Returning for its 31st edition, the ATM expects to welcome over 41,000 attendees and feature 2,300 exhibitors from 165 countries, highlighting its significant role in the industry.

This year’s ATM, under the theme ‘Empowering Innovation – Transforming Travel through Entrepreneurship’, aims to highlight the crucial impact of start-ups and entrepreneurs in steering the future direction of the travel sector. Through this focus, the event will serve as a critical platform for global industry leaders and policymakers to boost the travel and tourism community by embracing entrepreneurship and identifying growth opportunities.

The four-day event will include a comprehensive conference program with more than 50 insightful sessions delivered by over 200 distinguished speakers. The program will span across the Global Stage and the newly introduced Future Stage, covering various topics relevant to the industry’s future.

The Global Stage will commence with a keynote speech titled ‘Global Stage Welcome: The Gateway to Global Insights’ by Issam Abdulrahim Kazim, Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing. Kazim will outline Dubai’s tourism objectives and future plans. Additionally, a Ministerial Debate featuring Ministers from the GCC and other regions will discuss strategies for promoting and developing tourism in the GCC.

On opening day, the Global Stage will also host the Market Insights Summit, focusing on the growing influence of China, India, and Latin America in global tourism. The Future Stage will debut with an examination of the Trends Shaping the Future of Hospitality in the Middle East and multiple sessions on the emerging trends and challenges in the industry.

Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME for Arabian Travel Market, expressed enthusiasm for this year’s event, stating, “Following the unprecedented success of our 30th edition in 2023, exhibitor participation has increased by a remarkable 26% this year, making ATM 2024 the largest in the event’s history.”

The remarkable growth of the ATM reflects its status as a crucial event for the global travel and tourism community, offering unparalleled business and networking opportunities across various sectors.

Significant growth has been recorded across all show verticals, including impressive year-on-year increases in regions such as the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa. Moreover, more than 100 leading travel technology companies are set to present their latest innovations at this year’s event, with the Travel Tech section expanding by 58%, signaling a surge in interest from technology companies aiming to showcase their newest developments.

In line with its ongoing commitment to sustainability, ATM 2024 will build upon the main theme from the previous year, focusing on its 30 long-term sustainability goals. The Sustainability Summit, scheduled for May 9th, will delve into Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations, consumer preferences, and collaborative efforts needed for a sustainable future in travel and tourism. Moreover, the Sustainable Stand Award will acknowledge an exhibitor who has exceptionally minimized their stand’s carbon footprint.

The Arabian Travel Market 2024, co-ordinated with the Dubai World Trade Centre, boasts strategic partnerships with key industry players, including the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) as the Destination Partner, Emirates as the Official Airline Partner, IHG Hotels & Resorts as the Official Hotel Partner, and Al Rais Travel as the Official DMC Partner. This collaboration underlines the event’s significance and its role in shaping the future of the travel and tourism industry globally.
