Deloitte Launches New Office in Belfast City Centre
Deloitte has proudly opened its new office in Belfast, situated at The Ewart on Bedford Street. This move marks a return to its roots, as the location is close to the firm’s previous office where it operated for over three decades. The new premises span an impressive 46,000 sq ft, distributed across the second, third, 15th, and 16th floors of the contemporary Ewart office tower.
The second-floor office links seamlessly with the historic Ewart Warehouse, a former linen warehouse from the nineteenth century. This part of the development has undergone meticulous restoration after nearing a state of disrepair, preserving key architectural features such as archways, pillars, and staircases. These historic design elements have been thoughtfully integrated into the new office tower attached to the warehouse building, providing an inspiring blend of old and new.
Deloitte’s hybrid working policy is at the core of their operations, offering employees flexibility and choice in balancing their work across client sites, Deloitte offices, and home environments. This policy does not enforce a mandatory office attendance schedule, thus emphasizing employee autonomy.
Jackie Henry, managing partner for people and purpose at Deloitte, and senior partner for Deloitte Northern Ireland, expressed enthusiasm about the move: “This new office is an amazing space for our people and provides a platform to continue serving our clients and partners in Northern Ireland and beyond. It represents a significant investment and a commitment to the high quality of our teams in Belfast, highlighting our intent to play an active role in the Northern Ireland economy and wider business ecosystem. The coming together of our talented region in this new space is exciting, and we look forward to welcoming our clients and partners in The Ewart throughout 2025.”
The office is designed to foster a culture of engagement and inclusivity, with ample shared spaces to promote team collaboration. On the 16th floor, there is a dedicated client suite offering breathtaking views of the city. In addition, wellness spaces, including a nursing room and multi-faith area, are available, along with a games room and outdoor terrace on the 15th floor, catering to the overall well-being of the staff.
This move to the new Belfast office is part of a broader trend within Deloitte, following the relocation of teams to modern office spaces in cities like Edinburgh, Manchester, and Bristol. The new Belfast office embodies environmentally-friendly initiatives, with features aimed at minimizing carbon usage and maximizing the use of products with high recycled content.
As of last October, Deloitte announced a collaborative effort with science and technology organization Catalyst, establishing a new hub named ‘Catalyst Bedford Street’ on the ground floor of The Ewart Warehouse building. This venture is designed to support start-ups and scale-ups, and will also feature a café operated by the social enterprise, The NOW Group.
The strategic development and investment in the Belfast office underline Deloitte’s long-term vision and confirm its commitment to the Northern Ireland region, aligning with its progressive work principles and reinforced community engagements.
