Deloitte Unveils New Belfast HQ at The Ewart Building

Deloitte has proudly unveiled its new headquarters in Belfast, located at The Ewart. This move brings together over 1,300 Deloitte professionals in Northern Ireland under one roof for the first time. The new office is strategically positioned on Bedford Street in the bustling Linen Quarter of the city, near the original premises Deloitte occupied in Belfast for more than three decades.

This prime location is a stone’s throw from Belfast City Hall, offering excellent transport links at Grand Central Station and Donegall Square. The office spans a total of 46,000 sq. ft and occupies the second, third, 15th, and 16th floors of The Ewart’s modern office tower. Notably, the second floor seamlessly connects to the historic section of The Ewart development, the iconic Ewart Warehouse.

The Ewart Warehouse is one of Belfast’s most recognizable landmarks, dating back to the city’s industrial heyday in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Once on the brink of dereliction, it has been meticulously restored, retaining original features like archways, pillars, and staircases. These historic design elements have been beautifully integrated into the new office tower.

Jackie Henry, Managing Partner for People and Purpose at Deloitte, and Deloitte Northern Ireland Office Senior Partner, expressed her enthusiasm about the new headquarters: “This new office is an amazing space for our people and gives us a platform to continue serving our clients and partners in Northern Ireland and beyond. After having had a presence on Bedford Street many years ago, this feels like a return to our roots for Deloitte Belfast.”

She added, “The investment the firm has made in our new headquarters is a testament to the high quality of our teams in Belfast and demonstrates our commitment to playing an active role in the Northern Ireland economy and wider business ecosystem. It’s been brilliant to see the incredible talent in our region come together in the new space, and we look forward to hosting our clients and partners in The Ewart throughout 2025.”

The newly designed office aims to foster a culture of engagement and inclusivity, providing ample shared spaces to facilitate team connections and collaborative work. The 16th floor is dedicated to a client suite, offering breathtaking views over Belfast and multiple multi-use spaces to enhance client interaction.

Furthermore, the office incorporates wellness spaces, including a nursing room and a multi-faith area, alongside social spaces like a games room and an outdoor terrace on the 15th floor. The intelligent office layout supports Deloitte’s hybrid working model, offering teams the flexibility to choose how they work across client sites, Deloitte offices, and home.

The establishment of the new Belfast headquarters follows the example of Deloitte’s teams in Edinburgh, Manchester, and Bristol, who have recently moved into offices designed with sustainability and collaboration at their core. The new Belfast office integrates strong environmental features prioritizing low carbon use and products with high recycled content.

Significantly, in October of last year, Deloitte announced a new partnership with Catalyst, an independent non-profit science and technology organization. This collaboration will result in the creation of a new hub, ‘Catalyst Bedford Street,’ on the ground floor of The Ewart Warehouse building, dedicated to supporting start-ups and scale-ups. The hub will also feature a café operated by the social enterprise, The NOW Group.

This new development not only marks a significant milestone in Deloitte’s history in Northern Ireland but also serves as a demonstration of its continued commitment to fostering talent, innovation, and sustainable growth in the region.
