Bulgaria Presents Its Wonders at World Travel Market in London
From November 5th to 7th, 2024, the World Travel Market (WTM) in London will become the stage for Bulgaria to showcase its beautiful natural landscapes, UNESCO heritage sites, cultural tourism opportunities, and exquisite wine offerings. This annual event attracts approximately 43,000 visitors, with nearly 5,000 exhibitors and over 3,000 media representatives, playing a pivotal role in the global travel industry.
During this prestigious event, Evtim Miloshev, the caretaker Minister of Tourism, will further pursue the “Destination Balkans” initiative. This tourism product aims to foster the creation of joint tourism packages appealing to tourists from distant regions like Japan and the US. Miloshev will engage in a series of working meetings, discussing tourism collaboration with Olga Kefalogianni from Greece, Daniela Santanche from Italy, Ahmed Al-Khatib from Saudi Arabia, Fatima Al-Sirafi from Bahrain, and Nadir Alpaslan from Turkiye. Additionally, discussions with Frantisek Reismuller, CEO of the Czech Tourism Agency, and other key figures are expected to strengthen regional tourism ties.
The Bulgarian stand at the WTM will occupy a prime location, sprawling over an area of 304 square meters. This expansive space will be dedicated to the promotion of wine and culinary tourism across various Bulgarian regions, including Northeastern Bulgaria, the Thracian Lowland, the Rose Valley, Southern Sakar, the Struma Valley, and the Western and Central Danube Plain. Each of these regions will be represented by wines showcasing the unique characteristics of their local terroir.
Visitors to the Bulgarian stand will have the opportunity to explore the country’s rich natural beauty and cultural heritage through immersive cinematic VR materials. These presentations will bring to life Bulgaria’s majestic landscapes and culturally significant sites that are recognized by UNESCO. Additionally, a fun photo booth will allow guests to capture memories against stunning Bulgarian backdrops, which they can share on social media, helping to spread the allure of Bulgaria.
The diverse representation of Bulgarian tourism is further highlighted by the presence of 27 companies, associations, and municipalities at the stand. This comprehensive participation underscores Bulgaria’s commitment to promoting its tourism assets and growing its presence in the global tourism market.
Bulgaria is poised to offer visitors an unforgettable experience, captivating their senses with its natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and delectable wines. The World Travel Market in London presents an ideal platform for Bulgaria to enhance its visibility and attract tourists eager for new and enriching experiences.
