SMArtX Advisory Solutions Selects Dan Phillips as Chief Investment Officer
In a stride towards strengthening its position in the managed accounts technology space, SMArtX Advisory Solutions announces the appointment of Daniel “Dan” Phillips as Chief Investment Officer (CIO). This strategic move is aimed at enriching the firm’s investment offerings and enhancing service delivery to its expanding client base.
Phillips, who brings with him nearly two decades of investment expertise, is set to lead the continued development and growth of SMArtX Investment Solutions. Reporting to him will be Pascal Roduit, SMArtX Chief Investment Strategist, who is tasked with maintaining the firm’s existing investment solutions relationships and overseeing the quarterly SMArtX Manager Select List.
Together, Phillips and Roduit intend to introduce new capabilities aimed at providing turnkey investment solutions, overlay management services, including multi-asset portfolio management, and a high level of concierge service aimed at supporting advisers across all aspects of investment management. Phillips will also take on the role of chair for the SMArtX Investment Policy Committee, a key component in the firm’s strategy for offering sophisticated investment solutions.

Prior to joining SMArtX, Phillips served as Director of Asset Allocation Strategy at Northern Trust Asset Management, where he played a significant role in asset allocation processes, including development of capital market assumptions, strategic portfolios, and tactical positioning.

Phillips embarked on his financial industry career in 2005, following his graduation from the University of Iowa with a BBA in Finance and Economics. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, with concentrations in Finance, Economics, and International Business.
