The advent of AI in fashion photography promises to not just alleviate the logistical burdens traditionally associated with the process—which often involves coordinating with an array of stakeholders, including photographers, models, stylists, make-up artists, and post-production editors—but also to significantly reduce the time and costs involved. A typical photoshoot, which could span over 20 days, may now be condensed to a mere one or two days, according to Nair. This efficiency gain, coupled with an 80% reduction in costs, is expected to notably enhance conversions by up to 5%.

Despite the potential of NeuroPixel.AI’s solution to greatly benefit fashion retailers with substantial time and cost savings, the journey to persuading initial clients of AI’s merits was not without its challenges. Having commenced operations towards the end of 2020, it took some time before the firm could start implementing its solutions due to the inherent gestation period typical of deep tech ventures. “The first few clients were really difficult,” Nair recalled. However, with a growing roster of reputed brands, expanding their reach is becoming incrementally manageable.

Today, NeuroPixel.AI collaborates with brands not just within India, but also in burgeoning markets like Dubai and Singapore, with an ambitious eye towards the United States and the European Union. The company stands as a testament to the evolving landscape of Indian startups. Unlike the initial wave of startups that often spent years seeking a product-market fit within narrow confines, application layer AI ventures like NeuroPixel.AI are leveraging India’s robust technological ecosystem to address global markets from the get-go.
