Kerala-based Startup, ‘chargeMOD’, to Deploy 1,200 More EV Chargers Across India
In a significant move to bolster the electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in India, Kerala-based energy tech startup, ‘chargeMOD’, has outlined ambitious expansion plans. With a vision to facilitate an eco-friendly transportation network, the startup aims to establish 1,200 additional EV chargers nationwide, including a specific focus on enhancing the network within Kerala itself.
The expansion strategy involves the deployment of 1,000 slow chargers and 200 fast chargers across different states in India. Specifically, for Kerala, ‘chargeMOD’ is set to install 500 slow chargers and 100 fast chargers. This initiative comes in addition to the existing network of 1,500 charging stations in Kerala and 2,000 stations spread across India, marking a significant step towards creating a comprehensive EV charging infrastructure.
In line with the latest technological advancements, ‘chargeMOD’ is poised to launch Ultra Fast Chargers with capacities varying from 120 kW to 340 kW. This development is set to revolutionize the charging experience for EV users by significantly reducing charging time and enhancing convenience across the country.
M Ramanunni, CEO and Co-Founder of ‘chargeMOD’, shared insights into the company’s journey and its vision for the future. Originating from a project led by four engineering students, ‘chargeMOD’ has now flourished into a dynamic entrepreneurial venture. Its mission goes beyond business interests, aiming to contribute meaningfully to the sustainability and eco-friendliness of India’s transportation ecosystem.
With ‘chargeMOD’s expansion plans in motion, India’s EV infrastructure is poised for a significant leap forward. This initiative not only supports the growing demand for electric vehicles but also aligns with the broader environmental goals of reducing carbon emissions and fostering a cleaner, greener future.
